Guest guest
Check with Catalano at FSR (Foundation for Sarc Research), julie@.... Explain where you live & ask if she knows of any groups there. You can also participate as a virtual walker, which is what I did the first 2 years. I walked in a local park with some friends & family, even got a nice article in the town paper with pictures! We handed out baggies with a brief note explaining the Hike, including some Hershey's kisses. FSR has the slogan KISS (Kick In to Stop Sarcoidosis). The Hike itself is organized by a Chicago group & most of the teams are from the Chicago area, but most of the money raised by Team Sarcoidosis goes directly to FSR for research & patient support all over, not just in Chicago. ***Darlene's computer is rebelling, so it looks like Marla & I are it for the moderators for the time being. I'm still wiped out with this cold; slept all day yesterday & konked out early last night. I hope to get to more of the messages today, but I feel like I'm falling asleep right now, so please be patient everybody. We haven't forgotten you. Do you know if there are other support groups in other states that would have events like the one you were at?? Where would I go to find out. Matt Subject: Sarc retreat photos [10 Attachments]To: neurosarcoidosis Date: Sunday, October 10, 2010, 6:12 PM I made an album on the NS website, 2010 Indy Sarc Retreat, for those who can't view these photos. It was a wonderful event. Friday night is for fun & relaxation, and Saturday is for learning. I'll share some of the learning when I find my notes; can't remember squat. Maybe can share some. Anyway, Friday night was designed as stars walking the red carpet, and you know who the stars were! The neat thing was a memory walk that lined both sides of the red carpet hall, with stars for loved ones lost to sarcoidosis. I included a photo of the walk & one of Ron's star. Quint, if you read this & know how to contact Ron's daughter or other family, could you ask them if they want his star? We also had some entertainment, with some great singers & a poet. So enjoy the pics! Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Proverbs 17:
