Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I joined this group a few weeks ago. My son is 8 months (6 months corrected). He is in a Doc Band for right side plagio and is receiving treatment at the CT in Pasadena. I am just wondering if anyone in this group received treatment at the CT in Pasadena and if they are considered as good as the others. Thank you, Kim
Guest guest
We've been going to Pasadena CT almost 2 months, and we're almost an exact duplicate of you (8 month old boy, right side plagio). All the opinions I'd garnered from the internet and this chat board say that all the CT branches are uniformly excellent, and I've found everyone over there to be extremely nice. That being said, I'm a little disappointed with the results so far as I detailed in an earlier post, but this may not be CT's fault (helmet is already maxed out with little improvement in the front). We'll have a better idea in a month when we see the neurosurgeon to find out how to best proceed--perhaps with a 2nd helmet. > > Hello Everyone, > I joined this group a few weeks ago. Guest guest
We are, admittedly, in the very beginning of this process, so I can't speak at all to the results achieved by CT in Pasadena. But I can say that at our evaluation appointment and DSI/helmet ordering appointment we were very pleased with the staff in the office, especially our tech Theta. She definitely knows plagio in and out (that's all they do, of course, is baby banding) and took a long time with us (we were there a full 2 hours) answering all my questions and explaining everything carefully and clearly. I can see that weekly STARscans would be nice to get. That seems to be a real plus for the STARband. I've read other people's positive reviews about Stellar, so he must be good. Before we went to CT Pasadena I also did a search on this forum, on the babycenter group, and on the DOCband facebook page to try to glean info about that office (can you tell I'm compulsively thorough?). There were lots of happy parents who had had good experiences there, so we felt very comfortable with it, and for various reasons I wanted a DOCband, so they were our closest office. The initial measurements done at CT with the calipers do seem a little subjective and subject to user error. However, once you decide to go ahead with a DOCband, the DSI technology that they use is really amazing. The data obtained from simultaneous and essentially instantaneous shots from 15 different cameras was merged together to make a virtual, 3D image of my son's head and neck that can be turned, rotated 360 degrees, etc. to show his head from all angles. I think that this data enables them to make a custom helmets that are extremely effective, despite the seemingly crude nature of the initial caliper measurements. I think it's great that there are various good options out there for plagio parents to choose from! > > > > > > Hello Everyone, > > > I joined this group a few weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your response. Did you hear anything negative about CT in Pasadena in your research? When did your child start treatment and what was the treatment for (if you don't mind my asking). Thank you!
