Hey guys,

I haven't been around much too busy with school. You all know me

from my fistula repair back in May and the strugggle with

hypoglycemia. So now that I have my tool back why do I continue to

eat too much, eat the foods that make me sick, and make myself sick

on purpose? Your guess is good as mine. Almost 4.5 years out what

is wrong with me? I have only lost 25lbs of the 55 I gained back

before the repair. Is it cause I never got a good experience in the

begining cause everything made me sick so I never ate? Then I got

tired of it and ate anyway cause the reactions would pass so... I

don't know trying to get some friends to hold me accountable with my

eating but they all have trouble and they are not obese or hardly

even overweight. Seems like everyone even the normies have trouble

with this area too. You could sum it all up to my coping mechanism

I guess but there has to be other reasons I do this and my counselor

just seems to avoid the issue. He doesn't really know how to help

me cause its not his area of expertice and I never realized how big

of a problem it is. I just can't stop the self abuse. Oh by the

way I have tried the protein shakes for me it makes the cravings

worse and makes me feel like I have eaten a lb of chocolate and I

only mix them with water. It's not fair protein shakes make the

cravings worse. I wish they would work for me but they all make me

dump and I have tried numerous samples from Vitalady. Any one else

have this problem or am I the only unlucky one. Doesn't matter the

time of day either but I really notice it first thing in the morning

makes me sick the rest of the day so I don't even try it anymore.

Any thoughts,

Kristy

Sounds to me like you need a new therapist. There are some

excellent ones out there that deal with eating disorders. I had one that

was great right after surgery. It was funny because I was actually the

first client she had that had a wls. Some of the information she gave

me, she realize would not apply but she also explained that it was the

mind games she was wanting me to pay attention to.

I know the hardest thing in the world to do is to stop old

behaviour. I wish there was a simple explanation that works for

everyone. For me personally, it is a matter of Just Doing It. I had to

get rid of the stuff that was making me binge.
