And I love the little duck!

I'll bet he/she's a big duck by now, though....

C.

I had a little duck once.

After the sad event, I was told that it had become someone else's

Thanksgiving lunch. I gave no thanks for that info.

Trivia: Right after that pic was taken, the little duck pooped all

over me! :-)

Whoever told you about your duckie's ultimate sacrifice was MEAN!

Hey ladies!

I had a duck too! She was the sweetest most affection pet I've ever

had! Eventually she joined the neighbour's flock, which was okay

with me.

Oh, and I have seen both of you ladies' pictures, and think you look

lovely. We are a smashing group of movie stars....Aren't we??

Luna,

Your post-op photos are wonderful! The change isn't dramatic, but balances

your face very nicely. Congratulations!

Well, the surgeon I was inquiring about w/the somewhat rude and very

unhelpful office assistant gave me the name of a surgeon in Portland, about

an hour away. This surgeon is in network w/my insurance company. This

surgeon has a nice website and the lady in his office is very friendly and

helpful. I scheduled a consult for 8/15. I also left a message with my OD,

asking his opinion. Well, he phoned today to say he doesn't know anything

about the Portland surgeon, except that he is very new to orthognathic

surgery. He said although this isn't heart surgery, it is major surgery and

is very complex. He only refers to Dr. West.

So, based on his comments and your successful surgery, I'm sticking with Dr.

West. Thanks for all your comments and advice. I'm eargerly watching your

recovery!!

Thanks, Diane! Today has been my first day back at work and my

co-workers are all kind of squinting at me and going, " Yeah ... It

looks different .... " It's not the kind of change that hits anyone in

the face. But still, I keep catching a glimpse of myself in a mirror

or sitting somewhere and realizing I look ... just a little bit

better. Which I guess is enough. It's hard, because I'm torn between

wanting to be a classic " beauty " and just wanting to accept myself as

I am, once and for all.

About the surgeons: Never hurts to shop around. It's a good way to

educate yourself and become comfortable with whatever your final

decision is. I did visit a local surgeon first, but ending up going

with the word-of-mouth and my gut. Even though the expense was scary

for me, I just felt that -- this is my FACE! You know, not something I

want to take chances with.
