Does anyone have a work up sheet about how to start a support group. Maybe we can use this a forum to get the word out and have each person in each area try and start a support group for Sarcoid in each area where we have a member. We should not isolate it to just NS but start Sarcoid support groups with all form of Sarcoid to get more people involved. If there is no manual we could use what we learn to form one.

Any thoughts?

Mitch

FSR (Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research) will provide assistance in starting a support group. On the website they do list local groups; there wasn't one for Tucson. To check out the support groups they list & get info on starting one, go to www.stopsarcoidosis.org, click on Patient info, then support groups.

CISSG (Central Indiana Sarc. Support Group) sponsors the annual retreat/conference I attended a couple of weeks ago (the blonde episode). Most of the group & the conference attendees do not have NS, but it's still a very enjoyable & useful group. Just being with people who know about sarcoidosis is encouraging. CISSG meets every other month. I have never made it to a meeting; just doesn't seem to work out, but I don't miss the retreats.

I would very much like to find a group in the Easton/ town area. I know there is one in Lancaster but that is a bit far for me to go for regular meetings etc. I know that my local hospital in town Pa has a support group, but it is a general group for caregivers and not specific to Neurosarcoidosis, etc.ThanksMattSubject: Re: Support Group in TucsonTo: Neurosarcoidosis Date: Sunday, October 24, 2010, 3:31 PM
