Yes, it's OK to use Vitamin E with soy oil. I stop breathing when I get hold of most soy products, yet there are two -- Vitamin E and lecithin, to which I don't react. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
I’m catching up on reading messages, so this is a very late reply. I tried the vitamin E enemas to help stop bleeding. They did not work for me at all so I discontinued them. I started out using a bulb syringe, as the directions indicate. It was hard to work with the vitamin E, which I found to be very sticky. I think the bulb syringe got most of the distilled water inserted, but not much of the vitamin E. That seemed to stay behind in the syringe. I used a left over syringe I had from prescription Cortifoam. I think that worked much better at delivering the vitamin E, but still, it did not help relieve my bleeding at all. I don’t know if you would be able to get one of these syringes without a prescription, but I really thought it was a significant improvement over using the bulb syringe. In reading posts online from others who were using the vit E enemas, here are some other tips I picked up: 1. Make sure to use vitamin E with d-gamma tocopherol, d-delta tocopherol and d-beta tocopherol. I used Unique E which is available at Vitamin Shoppe. 2. If you are having trouble retaining the enema, administer a distilled water only enema before the vit E enema. This really helped me retain the vit E enema. 3. Use a small pair of scissors (swipe with alcohol first) to snip the top off the vitamin E capsules. It is much easier and faster to squeeze the vit E oil from the capsule than through a pin hole. How are the vitamin E enemas working for you? Any thoughts on my questions below? Thanks! Subject: Vit E Enemas - OT To: BTVC-SCD Date: Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 7:46 PM Hi all, I recently began doing Vit E enemas and I'm curious what type of enema (syringe) people are using? Up to this point, I've been using an ear bulb syringe and cleaning it between uses. My other question is regarding the Vit E. I went to The Vitamin Shoppe and purchased their brand of the gel caps that I pierce w/ a needle. My concern is that it has soybean oil in it...I looked at all of the different brands and every one of them has soybean oil, and some even had corn starch. Is it okay to use the Vit E w/ soybean oil? Thanks, Tasha
