Guest guest
Hi All, The folks who originated the Human Probiotic Infusion are Drs. Barry Marshall and Borody in Australia. Their website is found here: http://www.cdd.com.au/ They use it to treat UC and Crohn's, and there is discussion in using it for autoimmunity issues, also. It's been a while since I researched it, but their success rate is high, and I think they price out the HPI treatment at a few thousand. They have a pool of regularly tested donors they use. My own thoughts are it is a brilliant idea, but you've got to prepare for the infusion with SCD and breaking down biofilms. I would guess the unsuccessful cases treated with HPI have persistant biofilms that prevent adhesion of the introducted good bacteria. When I spoke with their office, because I have and am considering doing it, and they do have a home protocol for the HPI. They do this because so many people the world over are seeking their help, but cannot make it to Australia. I've got a copy of the HPI Home Protocol if anyone is interested - contact me and I will e-mail it directly. It calls for introduction of the HPI via an enema to the colon, which wouldn't likely be effective for Crohn's or SIBO folks, where an NG tube would be more effective. Of course, it is possible to ingest it yourself, and I've seen others on the blogs who have done so.
