Guest guest
Cyndy, My mother has been using Oster blenders ever since I was born. She swears it is the best brand ever and she's tried quite a few. You can check out Oster blenders at www.shopOster.com. I checked the website and it doesn't seem to have the particular Oster model I am using now. The one I have now has separate buttons for 'baby food', 'milkshake', 'smoothie', 'batter' etc. I think it has 16 different speeds so really quite perfect for a post-op liquid or soft diet. I like the one my mom got me because it's not too big and can be easily put away. I am sure that as August approaches you'll have a couple more surgery buddies joining you:-) And even if they don't, we'll all be here to support you regardless! Guest guest
I was short on counter space, so I ditched my blender in favor of my Cuisinart. It won't handle quite as much liquids, but enough to make a smoothee. And it does so much more. Luna > > Hi all! > > Just a question - does anyone have a favorite brand of blender? I am going to have to shop for one soon - so I thought I would ask the pro's around for suggestions! > > BTW - one step closer for me. I had all of my records updated by my OD last week. Also made the appointment for pre-surgical setup! Aug 1st is going to be a LONG day. OS first thing in the morning for pre-op consult etc....then off to the OD for the surgical set-up. Have to live with the surgical hooks for 2 weeks pre-op. Ah well. > > Am I still the only surgery date in Aug? seems hard to believe... > > Cyndy (upper & lower) > > > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Sports > Rekindle the Rivalries. Guest guest
Before my surgery, my sister bought me a Magic Bullet Blender off of QVC, but I'm sure they have a website. It has been wonderful. It's so easy to use (you just pour ingredients in a cup and push down), and also easy to clean. I'm not a cook, and I hate a lot of clean- up, so for me this was a great solution! It also comes with several cups, so you don't even have to transfer anything from the blender to the cup (which is nice); you just have to twist off the blade portion. I'd definitely recommend it! Good luck, and eat-up on a lot of crunchy, chewy foods now! > > Hi all! > > Just a question - does anyone have a favorite brand of blender? I bought mine at the Cosco, 24.95. This thing has saved my life. Very quick to blend small amounts and very very easy to wash. I am a Chef so I have all the cooking tools you could ever need but never had a hand blender , where has this been my whole life. I love it. Michele > > --------------------------------- > Yahoo! Guest guest
Sara, It seems like our moms think alike because I think I have the same Oster blender as you! The mother of all blenders!!..(haha) You will have to give me directions on how to use it when I get it in a few weeks. > Cyndy, > > My mother has been using Oster blenders ever since I was born. Guest guest
We bought a Kitchen Aid blender and still use it for making soups. I read somewhere that it's a good idea to get one that has a powerful enough motor to crush ice (for those post-op margheritas, I guess). Congrats on getting closer to your date! I had my surgery hooks for 3 weeks before surgery. I begged my ortho to put them on closer to the surgery but he refused. No idea why, it's his standard treatment. Anyway, they were not as bad as I thought they'd be, they just trap more food. > > Hi all! > > Just a question - does anyone have a favorite brand of blender? Guest guest
Hello Cyndy - I own a Back to Basics Smoothie Maker, plus a Kitchenaid blender. I've never used the smoothie maker, but I'll get my chance next summer after my surgery. I LUV kitchen gadgets: I also have a Juiceman juicer which will come in handy for concocting new and interesting juice blends while I'm recuperating. I buy my gadgets at www.qvc.com - they have the best prices and choices.// My Mom will be coming from Florida to " nurse me back to health " ; she's 87. I told my Mom that her job will be to blenderize my meals and snacks each day; I'm still not sure she truly understands that I will not be able to eat " real " food for a long while. Well, I've got a year to really explain all this to her! ~~ Diane > > Hi all! > > Just a question - does anyone have a favorite brand of blender?
