Guest guest
, Congratulations on your weight loss and your pregnancy. My surgeon said we were to wait 18 months so your not far off. There have been several cases of people getting pregnant being only a few months out. So don't be hard on yourself. Your going to do great and be a great mother!!!!! Take care and God bless! Guest guest
: I can¹t help with the pregnancy, and while things do happen I still say congratulations. You reached your goal and now have the next adventure of your life . I¹m sure you¹ll get advise on this board and in case noone¹s mentioned it there is a pregnancy/WLS Yahoo group: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/OSSG-pregnant/. Guest guest
Hi , My name is Crystal. I am 9 1/2 months post op. I had Lap RNY in Nov 2003. I am currently 11 1/2 weeks pregnant with twins. I got pregnant on the pill. DEFINATLY not planned...So you can imagine the surprise when we found out it was twins...There is an AWESOME group you can join that is ONLY women who have gotten pregnant after WLS. Someone has already posted the site. I joined it and its GREAT! I also have a hard time eating any amount of meat and solid food. The drs have me on allll kinds of vitamins and supplements and they make me eat something EVERY hour. So far I am still loosing weight but they also said that is to be expected. Good Luck and keep me posted. Crystal Lap RNY 11/18/03 365/215/165-175 11 weeks pregnant with twins!
Guest guest
, I would call your surgeon and see who he recommends. Also, 17 months...it could be a lot worse. I think everything will be fine. Just take care of yourself and the baby and please keep us updated. in Delaware Lap RNY 3/10/04 261/166/
Guest guest
You will get a lot of good advice. And I don't think anyone will lecture you. Hopefully someone will give you the other site that is on yahoo for pregnant women who have had this surgery. You can probably look it up if no one gives it to you. Good luck and don't worry, that baby will get what it needs from your body. Maybe you can start back on protein shakes to make sure you get the protein in. Others have had babies even earlier than you and have been just fine. Dora in Tennessee Open/Lap RNY 9/20/04 Vanderbilt Hospital
Guest guest
, Do you drink protein shakes at all? I would suggest finding one you like and drinking one or a half serving even, every few hours. And do make sure you're getting enough vitamins in. I'm sure you'll get lots of advice on the ossg pregnancy group that someone suggested. I've heard great things about them. Good luck, and I do hope this will be a great blessing in your life. Guest guest
, I got an email tonight about an upcoming chat on Spotlight Health, here's the info: In this month‚s chat, we‚ll be discussing the many questions women have about post-operative pregnancy. Is dangerous to get pregnant too soon after having weight loss surgery? How long should you wait? Will your chance of getting pregnant improve once you approach your ideal weight? Dr. Tom Chua from Chicago, Illinois, dispels the common myths about this important topic and discusses how weight loss can impact a woman‚s fertility. The chat will be held Tuesday, September 14, at 6 p.m. PST / 9 p.m. EST. To participate, log on to http://www.spotlighthealth.com and go to the Morbid Obesity chat page. To submit your questions ahead of time, simply email us at webmaster@.... Thought this could help you out. -- Sagel Burns Lap RNY April 9, 2004 (-83 lbs.) 348/265/140 (begin/current/goal) carrie@... - www.carrieburns.net > First let me apologize for using my boyfriend's screen name, I don't > have much time for computers so I never created my own name. > > I am in need of a little information and I was wondering if anyone > here has found themselves in my situation. > > I am 17 months post op, and about 6 weeks pregnant, I know this is > going to get me a few posts about responsibility, but accidents do > happen, and this is one of them, I got careless, what can I say. > > I am hoping that among those posts, there might be one from someone > who has found themselves in the same situation and is willing to > share their experiences, it would be even greater if this person is > from Miami and could recommend an OBGYN who is somewhat familiar with > the bypass surgery.
