Hi guys. I had my surgery thursday morning and its now sunday

morning. the third day after the big one. i got home last night

after just over 2 days in the hospital. first off i would like to say

how great the hospital staff were. the nurses took such great care of

me and made the initial stages of my recovery such a pleasant one.

the operation itself went really well. the main target of the

procedure was to correct a severe class 3 cross-malocclusion. though

the midlines are not perfectly lined up with each other, i am not at

all disappointed as i knew just how much correction had to be made.

instead the surgeon opted to go with the stability of the present

(after-bite) instead of pushing for the potentially unstable bite of a

" perfect " bite.

my jaws are now wired shut, and will remain like that for the next 6

weeks! horray! all gain comes with pain anyway. .. and besides, the

pain is not all that severe in my case. it's just a soreness that

lingers because everything is so swollen. as for the swelling. . i've

had ice packs wrapped around my jaw basically 24 hours a day to keep

everything in check and it's helping. .. no big poofie cheeks .. just

poofie cheeks. ..hahaha. .the next few weeks will definately have its

times of struggle, but with each passing day will put me closer to the

day when i'll be able to move my jaws again. oh .. i have some minor

numbness at throughout my bottom lip and down to my chin, but i can

still sense pressure and temperature. . all in all, i'm very happy

with the results, and pictures will definately be up soon. .. thanks

for reading !
