Guest guest
I am coming down with my 2nd cold in the 3 months since I moved to CA. Both of my school age children have given me these " gifts " . Before this move, it had been about 1/year. I just want to clarify that when I drink herbal tea (no caffine), do I still need to drink more water? It probably won't be a problem as I seem to be needing a lot of water to be comfortable. Yesterday, I drank about 120 oz. Thanks for the help. Diane LAP RNY 9/
Guest guest
According to the nutritionist I have seen caffeine free herbal tea can be counted as water (liquid). Guest guest
Wow. I've had 2 colds since 1994. I think the bugs are scared of the vites & protein. I'm jealous that you can down so much water! I can prolly count one ONE hand the number of times I've hit that magic 64 oz number in 9 yrs, too. sigh. The herbal tea prolly doesn't make much difference one way or another to a water drinker of your caliber. Except, oh boy, does a cup of licorice tea make me feel love/cared for/better when I do get a cold. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
Now I want to try Licorice tea. I brought home Echinacea tea yesterday but did not notice until I opened it that it contained Eucalyptus. I am allergic to the plant at least in form of dried wreaths and flower arrangements, so I won't be trying that one. I'll get some Licorice instead. I don't know if I am going to get the actual cold now. My sore throat is better and my nose is still pretty clear. Maybe the extra zinc and vit. C helped. You're lucky to have so few colds. I think as long as my kids are home, I'll have a few. I don't usually get 120 oz of water in but with a dry throat, I couldn't get enough. I almost always go a little over 64 though. Guest guest
I have " kids " . 7 employees with kids, with whom I share keyboards & phones. Scares me. BUT they get them, and for some reason, we don't. And WE'RE the ones with the compromised immune systems. Licorice tea. Never been much of a tea drinker, but I sat next to someone who was at work years ago. I had a " biserable code id by hed " one time and was also miserable in the job AND had just crossed over 200 # going up for the first time in my life. I just put my head down on my desk for awhile and oops, went to sleep. She woke me up gently with a cup of hot tea. For her, tea fixes everything. Didn't wanna be rude, so drank some. OH MY GOSH! It tasted sooooooooooooooo good. I swear it made my nose & sinuses work and it helped lessen the miseries of the job because someone cared. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
I have never been a tea drinker. Here in texas iced tea is like wine to people in France. People will drink it all day, especially during the summer. LIke I said, never been big on tea. However, lately, I have become a chai tea addict. And, I have lost 3 lbs, not that I am saying the stuff is causing that, but I noticed that rather than gaining my usual 4 lbs before my monthly friend arrived, I lost weight. So, I am hoping that the tea helped distract me from eating/thinking about eating. I bought the bags of Chai tea and make it hot with a little non dairy creamer and splenda. It tastes good, though nowhere as good as the Starbucks version made with steamed milk. Nope, not going to start drinking milk, so I will either use cream or s/f creamer (if I can find it.) I must've needed it bad Friday because I drank 3 cups! m > > > Wow. I've had 2 colds since 1994.
