Guest guest
Our son had his evaluation yesterday at the CT in Charlotte, and everyone could not have been nicer! He seems to have the classic case of brachycephaly. We are going to go ahead and get the helmet, although first we have to wait and see what insurance will cover (we are doing it even if they don't). They said he would only have to wear it 2-3 months hopefully. We both feel much better about this whole process now, but I think our pediatrician needs a little more education on the subject, because we had been asking about the flat spot on his head from 2 months, and were just told " more tummy time " . We were never told about repositioning, or anything else that could have helped the situation. I am going to talk to our ped at our next appointment about this, in hopes that it will help future families. I'm a bit apprehensive about all of this, but I know we are doing what's best for our son, and his future. This board, and others have been a great educational experience for us. Now we just need to figure out how we are going to decorate it when he gets it! If there is anyone on this board that lives in the Blacksburg, VA or New River Valley, please let me know! Good Luck EL > > Our son had his evaluation yesterday at the CT in Charlotte, and everyone could not have been nicer! He seems to have the classic case of brachycephaly. Guest guest
He's 6 1/2 months old. Off the top of my head, I don't remember, but I know when I asked about the percentage, she really didn't give me a number, just said that there is a 4mm (?) difference. Does that sound right? The paperwork is at home, sorry! I'm not expecting the width the get better, but it shouldn't get worse, from what CT said. I'll try and post some pics this evening. > > > > Our son had his evaluation yesterday at the CT in Charlotte, and everyone could not have been nicer! Guest guest
Brachy measurements are given in percentages. Plagio measurements are given in mm. 4 mm is pretty mild. Is there brachy as well? Re: Had Evaluation at CT in Charlotte He's 6 1/2 months old.
