Guest guest
I felt the same way although I was stuck with Boost or Ensure. I was allowed to have broth, water, sugar-free popsicles and pudding ( although I could not find any without Asparteme which I am allergic to). Fortunately I was only on the liquid diet for two weeks. Let me be honest, it was long two weeks. I locked myself in my room while my family was making, eating, and cleaning up dinner. That was my choice though. The smell of food made my head start thinking and begging. Some days smells made me sick other days it made me so " hungry " I went nuts. It takes some time to get used to but just remember that it is not forever. Just bear with it for the liquid stage and cherish the " add ins " as they come along. Good luck! Guest guest
Hang in there Kathy, you're doing great. Trying to ween yourself off the pain meds will help. Try sugar-free fudgsicles if you haven't yet and the 98% fat free cram soups from s tend to be tastier than the broth. You may want to check with your doc, but these should all be good. What else? Oh, Nesquik has a sugar-free version that's great to put in milk, think I'll go have some now . Keep up the good work, stay positive! Guest guest
I really loved the chocolate ensure or boost drinks. It's what I lived on during the liquid diet phase. I know it's tough, but it's time-limited.. you can get through it! I was never real hungry for the first month or two, but if you get that " head hunger " get out of the house, go for a walk, do a hobby (I scrapbook!), to take your mind off it. Hang in there, Kathy! It's worth all the difficult times. It will get better!!! , gpb 5/2l7/03 315/ 170/ 150 > I'm just 5 days post op and have already found myself sick of broth, > jello and popsicles - I do like the carnation instant breakfast. > Anyone have any suggestions?
