Guest guest
I have to think of something to replace that good smell feeling. //// You are so right! I was going to the farmer to get eggs and dh said " we'll be needing more for baking soon. " I said, " what baking? " He said, " Christmas cookies " I said, " oh I'm not making any this year " . I can't I simply can't. I am just now s/f and I am not willing to tempt this. I do LOVE Yankee Candles, pricey but they are worth every penny, they are the most fragrant, imo. However, I love apple/spice and they don't have that. I don't drink coffee, but the hazelnut coffee is wonderful! I would LOVE suggestions for replacements. It's a hard void to fill, cookie trays and delivering them when caroling = tradition for us. Hugs, Lori -----
Guest guest
Chex Mix. No sugar. I double the nuts. And I don't graze it. I issue myself a bowl and that is one of my allotted meals. I give away about 7 tons of it in little containers. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. Guest guest
Try an orange with cloves sticking in it, that smells good. I make my own potpourri, with orange skins, cloves and cinnamon, I put those in a small pan with water and simmer on low for a while. Trina > Chex Mix. No sugar. Guest guest
> I have to think of something to replace that good smell feeling. Well last year I found the key to the good baking smell, and it's relatively cheap and cleaner than potpourri, way cheaper than candles. Every year at this time, Celestial Seasonings comes out with their holiday teas. Last year they had one called Gingerbread Spice or something to that effect. Got it at Safeway on sale, and whenever I want the baking smell in my house, or just a really warm, homey feeling, I drop a teabag in a pot of water on the back of the stove on Low, and it smells good for HOURS. I imagine you could use one of those electric potpourri pots the same way, and it's easier cleanup than potpourri because the good smelly stuff is in those nice neat teabags. Of course I will confess, I bake. Too much. But darn, I'm good at it. ~~ Lyn G
Guest guest
OH what a great idea. I can't stand the taste of that tea. but you are right it does smell good. Never thought of just leaving it on the stove for the smell. GREAT GREAT. There are a few other Christmassy ones they have too. I will look into it.
