Guest guest
Rose thanks for the heads up, I also noticed that when these strange emails come, even though we think we know the sender, if we look closely, the name will will not be as it usually is, does that make sense? I am trying to catch up on things, but will day me a few days I can see. Blessings, Ms MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:) I just rejected a message that was sent to the group from " clamor--something. " I rejected it before I thought to write down the entire address. The message contained a link about health or medicine. I mistakenly clicked on this same link 2-3 weeks ago & invited a booger into my PC. It sent out messages to everyone in my contact list. Many were returned as undelivered, I presume because of virus & other protections. As far as I can tell, this just connects to a Canadian pharmacy selling Cialis & other drugs. But the stupid thing got me banned from www.freecycle.org, which I love. So don't open any messages from this address, and be very cautious about opening messages with blank subject lines, even if you know the sender. That's how I got infected--a message from a church friend, which he didn't know was being sent until people started asking him what was the deal. So, another long story to convey a simple message. Gotta live up to my name! Ramblin' RoseModerator It's not that life is so short-------It's that we wait so long to begin. Guest guest
, are the messages saying anything about Neurosarcoidosis? If not, they could be coming from anyone. I got the first one from a friend at church. It was the correct address with correct spelling, so I opened it. There was no message, just the link. Although I wondered why he would be sending it to me, I clicked on it & got a Canadian pharmacy. A couple of days later he notified everyone that he had not sent it & that he would always put something in the subject line. By that time, the link had already gone to everyone in my contact list, under my name & email address. He never figured out how it got into his system. ***The important thing is to protect others by deleting lists of people on forwarded mail, using Bcc, always putting something in the subject line, not opening suspicious messages without personally contacting the sender & not clicking on suspicious links--such as sent with no message & no subject. Guest guest
, I don't think you got it from my email, as that message never came to the group. Most of my contacts returned it; they must have had better Internet security than some. No one reported to me that they got infected by it; I really think someone has to open the link like I did. The similar ones that have come to the group have been intercepted by the moderators & deleted without anyone clicking on the link. Our fear is that somehow a message will bypass the moderators & a member might click on the link, thereby making themselves vulnerable. The important thing is at least changing your Yahoo password, or even closing your current Yahoo ID & creating a new one. I know it's a pain to change email addresses, but sometimes it's necessary. At least change your password. Ramblin' RoseModerator It's not that life is so short-------It's that we wait so long to begin.
