Marla, I know how difficult these adjustments can be, even when the family members get along well. I forget--has your mom been living in her own home? When my mom first moved up here with me a few months after my dad died, she had to reduce her living space from a small duplex with a large basement to one bedroom & share a family room. There was space in the laundry room for her fridge & a small bar area in the family room for a few of her dishes & some food, but it was still a difficult adjustment for her. Then after I went on disability & lost that nice big house, we moved to a very small 3 bedroom (Mom, my granddaughter Sam & I). She still had her fridge, out in the garage now, & a tiny cupboard for her dishes, cereal, etc. After a couple of years there, I got her into a seniors' complex, with her own little apartment. She was in heaven! Absolutely loved it. She had begun showing Alzheimer's symptoms, but did well there for almost 2 years. Meanwhile, Sam leaves (girls' school, then gone for good), Ginny comes & goes, Brad camps on the sofa occasionally, & now Theresa & her 2 youngest are here. And that doesn't count the cats, dogs, betta fish, rats, & hermit crabs! I have definitely learned to mellow out & just cruise along!

Good luck on the transition. If your mom is anything like mine, the more you can create her own space for some of her things, the better she'll adjust. We'll keep truckin' along here, so don't worry about us. Let us know how things are going, okay?

Dear Sarcoid family, You may have notice I've been hit and miss for awhile, I'm afraid I will be more miss these days, My Mother just moved here to live with us, and I need to be around her more, she does well, and is in good health at 89 that's amazing, but just the routine of it all. So until we get a routine together, along with my work, I'm still selling Kay, and work very, very part time for a home health agency, doing RN paper work, etc... But trying to fit mom into all that and my Sarc may take me a few weeks. I'm so glad Rose is back, and Sarcdog, and all of you that keep this very blessed place home for many of us.I know there are still many out, and struggling to keep up so I will check in from time to time, and see if I'm needed, but know you are all in excellent hands. My blessings to all, this is an amazing family. Love to all, for all you do. Marla

Hope all works out well with mom moving in. just remember to take care of yourself during everything else you are doing. Every time I meet with one of the social workers or PT's etc that are working with they ask me if I am taking care of myself. On a better note. Our return home has been good for the most part. She is able to get around the house fairly well and we are using the wheel chair outside of the house. They took her cast off her wrist on the 8th but then my stubborn other half managed to fall on the slate fireplace bottom and ended up with 6 stitches in her knee.

She didn't want to wait for my help in getting her outside to the deck. We did get away for a few days this past week to the Poconos. Had decent weather and even though we didn't do too much it was good to get away.I hope all are as well as they can be. MattSubject: noticeTo: "NS"

Glad things are going fairly well for you & , Matt. I'd love to get away for a few days. A couple of weekends ago, I went to my hometown for the 150th anniversary celebration. It's an hour away, but that wasn't far enough! My younger daughter invited herself over Saturday to tour my old school & meet up with former classmates. I couldn't believe it. Luckily she got bored after about 4 hours & went home. So for my next retreat I need to put quite a bit more distance between myself (the retreater) and my family (the retreatees?).
