Guest guest
I don't know that this is the answer you're looking for but my bf did come up with a fake soy sauce that worked really well. The only thing is, he just throws things together and doesn't measure anything. Ever. I swear he never makes the same meal twice! Anyway I thought I might share what he told me about what he threw together and maybe you can come up with a combo of your own? " mushroom, citrus, salt, sesame oil, water basically. smoked paprika for the better ones. it's basically a salty earthy taste with sweet and mildly smoky high points when it's a good soy sauce (as i like it anyway). the sweet can be mildly fruity. basic soy sauces are just dark saltiness i probably added a bit of honey to get sweetness come to think of it. it would probably be easier to make one by cooking actually, i've only made raw ones. cooking the mixture down would yield a stronger sauce which would act more like soy sauce which is a very concentrated taste " Stacey > > Is there an SCD substitue for soy sauce? > > > SCD since July 14 > celiac, IBS >

Guest guest
i've been using this recipe ... prior to my scd diet i used molasses but now i use honey. it doesn't taste exactly like soy sauce but it's better than NO soy sauce when a recipe calls for it. Soy Sauce Substitute 2 cups beef broth 2 teaspoons cider vinegar 1 teaspoon honey 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger 1 dash black pepper 1 dash garlic powder 1 dash onion powder salt to taste (put in after reduction) Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan and boil uncovered until reduced to 1/2 cup. Store in refrigerator. Stir/Shake before using.
