Guest guest
Hello and Welcome , Hopefully at 3 months of age, he'll be fixed quickly and you won't have to keep this up long. Most of the babies do well, but a few have needed a week or two of adjustment time. Make sure that the helmet fits well. If it is rubbing his ears, does more of the area around the ears need to be cut out? Maybe if the ortho knew that it was causing discomfort, they would take this step. Also, make sure that there aren't too many red spots, which could indicate that it has become too tight in certain areas. Other than that, I don't really have advice since my daughter didn't have this kind of trouble. Hopefully someone whose baby did have trouble will answer your question. , mom to , 26.5 months STARband grad May 2009 Chiro and CST land Brand new to group- Hello-I am new to this group! Im joining because my son just got a helmet and im having some issues! He was diagnosed with Plagiocephaly and torticollis at birth really-but at his three month check up we were referred to a neurosurgeon and from then on we were referred to get a helmet. He just got his helmet a week ago and he seems to be depressed when wearing it! It seems to rub his ears too and he keeps tugging at them (not sure if that means he has a ear infection)-he just doesnt seem the same with the helmet. Trust me I know this is for his best-but im very emotional about it! Any support/advice would greatly be appreciated! Looking forward to participating in this group!
