You can track your food intake on fitday.com which calculates carb protein and

fat intake. You can also add more fruits and vegetables for more carbs, and also

more fats for calories instead of protein. You should try to eat as balanced a

diet as possible. The SCD yogurt is also a source of carbs and some fats.

Try working out different amounts of foods on fit day.

Today I consumed 1500 calories. The breakdown is 48% fat (83 grams), 34% carbs

(131 grams), and 17% protein (62 grams). This was a tad more carbs (I don't

drink pineapple juice everyday) and protein (I ate a little more meat today)

then I normally consume. I'm 5'4 " inches and weigh around 100 pounds.

I

just looked into the recommendations on protein, carb and fat consumption.

The important thing to remember is that there is individual variation, there is

never one rule for everyone -- so your body might just work better with more

protein per day than other people.

The

recommendations from expert nutritionists state: daily food or calorie

consumption should fall in the range of 45% to 65% carbohydrates, 20%

to 30% fats, 10% to 35% proteins. Experts also come to a consensus that

the body doesn’t require carbohydrates to survive, it can meet its energy

needs from proteins and fats, but our brains do function better with some

carbohydrates. And, finally, most experts feel that we should consume a

minimum amount of 50 grams to 130 grams of carbohydrates per day.

But,

remember that some of us have bodies that function better with higher levels of

proteins or carbohydrates or fats than others. I’ve discovered that

my digestion doesn’t handle carbohydrates or fats too well, so I

generally consume about 40% proteins, 45% carbohydrates (low and medium types)

and 10% fats. This is an average; some days I have more proteins, some

days more carbohydrates. I pay attention to my body’s signals, and

pay attention to how much my energy levels fluctuate throughout the day, and

adjust my food choices accordingly. I also have blood workups twice a

year because of having functional digestive disorders, checking for liver,

pancreas and kidney function, among other things. So I’ll know fairly

quickly if my kidneys are having problems with protein digestion.

Other

folks on SCD find they need more fats and/or carbohydrates than protein, so

they eat a different range of foods than I do. We all have to find what

works for us. The important thing is that you discover the right

combination for your body, and see/feel your symptoms improving and your body

working better.

I don't eat a really great diet, because fruit and vegetable fiber seems to

bother my gut (juice is okay though). I only had a tiny amount yesterday to see

if I can start building up a tolerance. I'm also not much of a meat eater. Keep

that in mind when you look at my list of foods :-).

From Fitday: 1500 calories

2 cups of yogurt (16g protein, 16g fat, 16g carbs)

1.33 tablespoons honey (23g carbs)

1 almond butter brownie (5g protein, 18g fat, 16g carbs)

..5 cup grape gelatin (3g protein, 15g carbs)

..33 cup frozen yogurt (4g protein, 13g fat, 17g carbs)

1 tablespoon almond butter (2g protein, 9g fat, 3g carbs)

6 ounces pineapple juice (1g protein, 26g carbs)

Bison patty (20g protein, 13g fat)

1 slice cheese (5g protein, 7g fat)

..12 cup green peas (1g protein, 1g fat, 3g carbs)

..12 cup cheesy mashed cauliflower (1g protein, 3g fat, 1g carbs)

..5 cup blueberry gelatin (3g protein, 10g carbs)

Fish oil pills were the 4 remaining grams of fat.
