Guest guest
, like Marla said, sometimes these spammers use a name that is very similar to one of our contacts, but in this case they somehow actually hijacked our computers, or at least our email. The message was sent from my friend's actual email address, as was mine. The link was sent to everyone in my contacts list, including the local paper, Dr. Baughman, etc! Quite a few were returned, probably because of firewalls, etc. I did get banned from one site for sending spam. I wrote the administrator explaining what happened, but haven't heard back. I changed my hotmail password & ran some extra spyware & malware scans; so far no other problems. So you might want to warn all of your contacts not to open messages from you with a blank subject line, and if they do open the message, don't click on the link. Then change your password & try some additional spyware scans. Computer experts do not recommend using more than one anti-virus because they can cancel each other out, but there are so many different types of spyware & malware out there that one protector is often not enough. I couldn't find anything on the Internet about this particular problem, although the website on the link is apparently a legitimate one. Hopefully this hijacking is only designed to send business to them & not try to steal our identities or anything like that. I get so angry when I think of obviously bright people who can't think of anything better to do with their time & talents than to cause aggravation for strangers. Arrrrrgggghhhhh! For the pain, have you tried MSM. Tracie, Marla & many others swear by it. I don't really have much bone pain, so don't use it. You can buy it at health food stores, but you want to make sure that you are getting good quality. GNC is probably not the place. Tracie gets hers online; not sure where Marla gets hers. Marla, if you read this soon, could you give some info? Thanks, sweetie. I know you aren't feeling up to snuff right now, but maybe in a few days. Guest guest
Thanks Rose. I will have to try this out -- anything to alleviate the pain!! I wonder how far back this perpetrator used my name! My son cleaned the computer about two weeks ago when he found a virus on it. Maybe I should recommend that he cleans it again.Have a blessed evening!!Always, L. -Maye (Baltimore MD)To: neurosarcoidosis Sent: Tue, September 21, 2010 11:42:24 AMSubject: email bugs + note for Marla , like Marla said, sometimes these spammers use a name that is very similar to one of our contacts, but in this case they somehow actually hijacked our computers, or at least our email. Guest guest
, I actually have tried a few different types of MSM, and find the best at Walmart in capsule or caplet style, just make sure you get the highest dose, I take it two to three times a day. And it's not that expensive. I even had my husband start taking it when he started complaining about his hands hurting, as there's a lot of arthritis in his family. I know Tracie ordered her's and got powder, I would rather swallow a pill:) Ms MarlaJust one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:) Thanks Rose. Guest guest
I actually did try the MSM for my back pain a few years ago & got the powder because Tracie said it took affect faster & I thought it would be good for the nights I couldn't get to sleep due to the pain. Yuck! Yuck! And more yuck! Tracie says you get used to it, but I thought it was some of the nastiest stuff I'd ever ingested! I even tried to buy empty capsules to fill with the vile stuff, but they were actually pretty expensive, plus looked like a lot of trouble for someone who can't even do cross stitch any more. I gave the stuff away, started doing the MBSR (Mindfulness-based stress reduction) which helped the back & leg pain quite a bit. , re: that email bug, it didn't start sending out stuff from my computer until about 2 weeks after I had received it. The one I received & that was then sent out to my contacts had something about dh3.health24x in it. My daughter received something similar, said something about medicine in hers. She didn't get the message from mine (guess her security system protected her), but got it from a friend, who had no idea it was sent. Like we don't have enough aggravation to deal with. Stupid putzes. Anyway, in the future if I get something like that, I'll check directly with the alleged sender before even opening the email & for sure won't click on the link. Try downloading one of the free spyware scans, like Ad-Aware or SpyBot Search & Destroy and running that at least once. I used the Ad-Aware from Lavasoft, even though it also contains an anti-virus, because I was just going to run it once, then check to be sure my regular antivirus was working. The Ad-Aware found over 20 articles, but just 6 that were considered moderate-severe threat & were quarantined. If you do this, make sure you download the free version, as the websites make it kind of confusing so that it's easy to click on the "Pro" versions. That's okay if you want to pay for them, and they are convenient. The free ones can't be set to run automatically; you have to remember to run the scan manually. I hope I didn't ramble on too much again! Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine.
