Guest guest
Hi Rina, We don't mind interim pictures, you can always post a final one that you're happy with. I'm sure you'll soon be working your way up from the pinky finger. Guest guest
Hey Cathy, it does seem like yesterday for me too. I joined about 2-3 years ago as well with tonnes of questions when I was first told about my treatment path. I could have gone the route of just braces or braces and surgery. I had 4 premolars taken out and a baby tooth from my gums, then the braces put on then the wisdom teeth taken out and finally surgery. It's been a very long process but definitely all worth it. Time does fly, and soon to think when the braces come off it will be so awkward as I can't remember life without them! Though I definitely won't miss the adjustments! ;-) As for the elastics, heheh nope still can't get them on. I've been told to leave them in as it's more effective that way. I did change them once at my ortho's office but that was with all the little gadgets he has. I am unable to do it myself at home. So I go see Dr T or my ortho every few days to get them changed! As for eating ya I am onto a soft food diet and it's been amazing. Some days I do get frustrated from eating the same few things every day, but to taste real food again was awesome. Weight loss unfortunately I'm still losing. I am down to 94 pounds last time I checked so in total I've dropped almost 20 pounds which was scary but I've been assured once I can start eating if I want to gain it back I'll have no problems (just hopefully all wont go back to the stomach!) The worst definitely is over. All that's left now are a few bumps in the road (LIKE MY FIRST ADJUSTMENT UGHH IM SCARED). But I've been through this so I'm sure I can handle that. Time to go " eat " breakfast!! Take care. Rina > > > > > Hi Rina, > > > > > how are you doing? I am wondering if you have seen Dr. T. > > > lately. > > > > > How is he since the accident? Guest guest
Hi Rina, Glad to hear your on a soft food diet. I am sure a definite improvement from ensure and liquids. 94 pounds! Wow hopefully when the splint is removed you will begin gaining back those precious pounds. Are you also on any tonic to help with the weight loss? You mentioned seeig your ortho or Dr. T. every second day. I'm guessing you live near their offices. I imagine it would be a comfort as well to have a professional checking your mouth so often. They would detect any problems quickly. I am sure once you are ready for your first adjustment, it will go smoothly. It will certainly be different being brace free. Flossing will be easier that for sure. You mentioned an appointment with your surgeon tomorrow. Let us know how that goes.
