Guest guest
Hi, I have a question regarding the posting of pictures. On Tuesday, my OD gave me a print of the pictures his assistants had taken of me at the work-up appointment. They took the pictures with a digital camera and then printed them on one sheet of paper. (I feel they are the most unflattering pictures ever taken of me, but they show my hideous teeth and bite so well!) Anyway, I thought they would be great to post to start my folder in the Photo Album. What should I do - take a picture of the picture using my 35mm camera, have the film developed and get the picture loaded onto a picture CD, and download it? I've never posted pictures before; I need some suggestions/help. Thanks. Signed, Diane - the computer-illiterate Idahoan
Guest guest
Diane, See if your doctor's office can actually email you a copy of the file of the pictures of you or give them to you on a CD. Then you can upload them onto your computer and then onto this site. You have every right to have the pictures because they are of you after all. Otherwise I would say the best thing to do would be to scan the pictures. I think Kinko's should be able to provide this service. Somehow taking a picture of another picture with a camera never really comes out that clearly. Once you've got a copy of the pictures that can be uploaded onto the site I can talk you through how to actually upload them if you like. Guest guest
Sara, Thank you for coming to my rescue! And guess what - I'm at Kinko's as we speak. I have a scanner at my computer cubicle, but I've never used one before. I think there's a technical-computer person working tonite, so I'll see if he's around to help me with the scanner. How do I upload once the picture is scanned? - Thanks. ~~Diane > Diane, > > See if your doctor's office can actually email you a copy of the file > of the pictures of you or give them to you on a CD. Guest guest
Lol Diane, I must be psychic! Ok, go to the link on your left hand menu of the message board that says Photos and click on that. Once in the Photos section click on CREATE ALBUM. This allows you to create your own album with your name to allow us and you in the future to identify your pics. Then once you've created an album click on ADD PHOTO. This will bring you to a window that gives you about space to upload about 5 different photos at once. I recommend doing only one at a time just in case of problems. Click on BROWSE which will bring you to the file system of your computer. Click on the file of your scanned photo - the filepath name for where it is saved should appear in the blank space next to where it says BROWSE. You can also add a caption to go with the photo underneath the BROWSE section. Once this is done click on UPLOAD. And voila', your photo is uploaded. DON'T FORGET however to go back and delete the ORIGINAL SIZE of the photo you uploaded as this takes up space on the message board. You do this by clicking on your photo that you've uploaded. On the right hand corner of the photo, on top you should see an icon that says ORIGINAL SIZE. Click on this. It will produce and original size of the photo. Once this appears you'll find another icon that says DELETE ONLY ORIGINAL SIZE PHOTO. Click on this. And your done! Your smaller photo will be saved and ready for yours and everyone's viewing! Hope this is clear enough:-) Sara > > Diane, > > > > See if your doctor's office can actually email you a copy of the file > > of the pictures of you or give them to you on a CD. Guest guest
Well Sara - The technical person here at Kinko's helped me scan the picture onto a floppy disk, but when we tried to upload it, it wouldn't go - he says that Kinko's has blocks on alot of websites. So, I will ask my nextdoor neighbors this weekend if they would help me, using their computer, to upload it to the site. The pictures show me pre-braces; wow, am I really THIS ugly? Yuck!! Well, at least the picture has been scanned onto a floppy disk. Thanks for your help. ~~ Diane > > Diane, > > > > See if your doctor's office can actually email you a copy of the file > > of the pictures of you or give them to you on a CD.
