Guest guest Posted June 4, 2005 Report Share Posted June 4, 2005 i found that new things were constantly popping up for me. the worst of it was definately the first and second days after the surgery because everything was still sore and tender and i didn't know what i could or could not do. after those days, overall, each day was a better one. sometime last week i noticed a massive build up of this crusty stuff on the inside face of my teeth. each time i tried to mumble my tongue would scrape against this layer of crust and soon it got my tongue real sore. it's still not gone, and i just don't speak as much. the last few days i've noticed that muscles in my neck are sore, especially when swallowing. but yea. .. overall, things are as good as they can get with wired jaws. ahha. . good luck with your recovery.

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: & quot;jayarinca & quot; & lt;jayarinca@... & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Day 10....WHEE!
& gt;Date: Sat, 04 Jun 2005 16:43:57 -0000
& gt;
& gt;Okay, so I am at Day 10, and I feel great. Guest guest Posted June 5, 2005 Report Share Posted June 5, 2005 Jayar I felt the same way after day 10, and I asked my doctor if I really had anything to worry about until this was all over. He said that there is always the chance for infection until I'm 100% healed, so make sure that you continue to keep your mouth as clean as possible. Of course, your bone is not completely healed yet, so it is still really important to stay away from heavy physical activity. I am wired shut, so there is always the chance of choking. Other than that, I am almost 6 weeks post op, and things have been great since about day 6 or 7. Fortunately, I haven't had any major problems with this entire process. ) > Okay, so I am at Day 10, and I feel great.
