Guest guest
Hey, it's day 5 now, and I'm feeling pretty good, eating better, and in pretty good spirits. The one thing I'm concerned about now is my nose. My surgeon noticed it was crooked on the 2nd day after surgery, but hoped that maybe it was the swelling. Well, obviously I still am swollen, but it is becoming very apparent that I now have a deviated septum. My left nostril is completely closed by the cartlidge in my nose. (yes, I know for sure it's the cartlidge, I can feel it with my finger....yuck). I can't breath at all out of that side, and can breate better than ever on the side that is not messed up because it is way more open. My surgeon said that it's a simple procedure to correct it and that I can do it outpatient no problem, but I wondered if anyone here has had a septoplasty? I would really like to get it over with if that's the problem, so I can have all of my recovery done at one time. My surgeon is on vacation until Thurs. when I go and see him, so I will talk to him about this then. On the bright side, aside from my nose, I'm actually liking the results right now. I did really laugh at myself in the mirror yesterday though, when I realized I look like Fiona from Shrek....with the lovely green bruising and the swollen cheeks and nose:-).
