Guest guest
Mine didn't solidify the first two attempts but tasted awesome so if it takes a few tries to get the consistency down, don't worry. I used mine in smoothies or for breakfast. Debbie 41 cd Can someone please write a step by step guide to making coconut yogurt? Mara already did =) It's in the group files, I think under probiotics. Guest guest
I found that but it says: " Let it cool all the way to room temperature or, heh!, Canadian room temperature. Then add starter to coconut milk as you would for regular yogurt - only don't boil the milk first or anything - just make it right after you have separated out the milk and ferment in normal fashion for about 8-10 hours. " What is canadian room temperatur? In norway room temperatur is about 72. Then it says: " add 1/3 cup or so of water to the contents of a box of gelatin with 2 packets (1 packet per every 2 cups unless you want to have very runny gelatin - then only use 1, or very hard gelatin and then increase to 3 per quart " How much is one packet? Guest guest
Hi,I also have a question on the step by step coconut yogurt...It says: "Then add starter to coconut milk as you would for regular yogurt - only don't boil the milk first or anything - just make it right after you have separated out the milk and ferment in normal fashion for about 8-10 hours."What does separating out the milk mean - that you're supposed to take out some of the milk and mix the starter in and then mix it back together? Is it okay that I mixed the starter with all the milk? I used only about 1.5 cups of coconut milk. I also let it cool for like 2 hours to get it down to room temperature...was that too long? Its fermenting now so any help's appreciated! Thanks,Ellen To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Mon, July 26, 2010 5:47:56 PMSubject: Re: Coconyt yogurt step by step? Guest guest
oh okay that's good. Another question - it went up to 111 degrees at one point...now its around 108...whats the deal with the temperatures with coconut yogurt? i don't have a yogurt maker so i can't really keep the temp consistent.ThanksEllen To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Fri, July 30, 2010 9:45:08 PMSubject: Re: Re: Coconyt yogurt step by step?
