Guest guest
Hi, I’m and a new member to this group. My daughter is 1 month on SCD. She has been taking cod liver oil for the last three years. I just discovered that it contains vitamin E extracted from soya oil which is included in the illegal list. If I stop the cod liver oil, any suggestion on the possible replacement? Thanks. Guest guest
Mara, It's best to take Vit D supplements in general with Fat in order for it to be more bioavailable.. we don't really efficiently absorb Vit D without fat. That's why the fish oils are pretty cool like that. I think this may be one reason why Weston A Price may of really liked the synergistic effects of using the butter oil with the FCLO as it seems to be a way for the body to utilize much more in the supplement. FCLO alone provides an excellent source for nutrients and such.. but according to WAP doesn't do the magic. It's all about what your body can work with. I don't do dairy but when I was taking the butter oil I felt quite good with it. Here's a great article I dig but again it's from WAPF; http://www.westonaprice.org/cod-liver-oil/238-cod-liver-oil-basics.html Jodi > > > > > > >> If I stop the cod liver oil, any suggestion on the possible replacement? > > > > > > You could try Blue Ice cod liver oil from Green Pastures online. It's actually fermented, too, which is supposed to make it even more beneficial. They have a few flav! ors, just be sure to get the non-flavored one which is SCD legal. > > Hey Alyssa, when do you take that? First thing in the morning before eating?
