My daughter 3yrs old has UC for about 1 yr now. She has been on SCD diet for

about 2 months.

She sweats a lot when trying to sleep. However most of the time she stops

sweating when she is asleep.

I am wondering if anyone had such experience. What might be causing it. Is this

normal for UC?

She used to sweat before SDC diet too. So i don't think it is related to the

diet. Also we notice when we initially started to give her goat yogurt, she

stopped sweating for couple of days. However after few days sweating came back.

thank you all in advance.

I had bad night sweats while taking the prednisone.. I was told that my body was like a heater to be around.. I am off of the prednisone and I am the whole other side now.. I get the shakes if my air conditioner goes below 76 to 77. Use to sleep with the house at 70 to 71 now 73 is the lowest I can stand.. It all changes with the meds I am on..

My sister and I both have UC.. She gets a low grade temp when she goes through a flare.. I have often felt like i had fever but never marked it on the therm... But I have not experienced the sweats based on the diet..

Yes, it's " normal " for somebody with UC or Crohn's. It happens for

the same reasons we get fevers sometimes; its a side effect of too

much inflammation in the body. The sweating will probably take a

while to go away, at least it did in my case: all my other symptoms

like diarrhea and nausea had stopped before the sweating did.

If I eat something I shouldn't, I perspire profusely 2 or 3 days

later; you might want to keep track of when she's sweating the most

and see if there's a pattern.

I get night sweats, too, though at my age I tend to refer to them as

" increased hot flashes " . If I've eaten something that's stirring up

my gut in an unfriendly way, it definitely can have this result.

Boy, my dad would like to move in with you! His body is like a furnace too (he

has crohn's, but doesn't follow SCD). My mom and I keep the thermostat at 81

during the summer, so he's always sweating buckets. I used to run hot as well,

but ever since Humira and now SCD, my body temp has cooled way down.
