Guest guest
, I tried researching this, but there are so many different types of movement & I didn't know exactly what kind you have. If you type "involuntary body movements" into your search engine, some useful sites will come up which describe tics, tremors, spasms, etc. You can also try this site for neurological disorders, but you have to have some idea what you are looking for, as there is an alphabetical index. Have you talked to one of your docs about this? http://www.ninds.nih.gov/index.htm Ramblin' RoseModerator A merry heart is good medicine. Does anyone know what this movement is called? I sort of remind myself of Muhammad Ali with the movement of the head and sometimes including the shoulders. I know that it has something to do with the chiari but I don't know what it is called. It's happening so frequently now that I become sick to the stomach sometimes during these episodes. Is there medicine that can alleviate some of the movement? Thanks for any information that you might have.Always, L. -Maye (Baltimore MD)
Guest guest
Hi , I don't have the movement in my head.. but I do have it in my arms, and in my chest.. I was told by my doctors that is called myoclonic jerking.. and I have notices that I is more active if I drink nothing but diet soda's instead of water, I hate water, but it is my friend. Soda, diet or not, causes dehydration.. and like I said mine is more active when I haven't keep the water flowing.. I've now started having these jerks in my legs and the jerk in the upper body happens with leg jerking... This is my story.. and I know all of us are different.. but I hope this helps.. Guest guest
When I was working as a nurse-midwife, my hand tremors were a big problem (as you ladies can imagine). My OB doc suggested Remeron, which actually helped quite a bit, but I didn't realize (didn't read the drug info sheet) that it increases appetite! I was already packing on the weight from Pred, but it really zoomed up there with the Remeron. My b/p was out of control, getting diabetes, couldn't walk & breathe at the same time. So we stopped the Remeron & started tapering the Pred. Tremors came back & first I had to give up catching babies (Marla, can you believe that my great-nephew Trent, my last birth, just turned 7?), then a few months later couldn't even work in the clinic. Not just the tremors; my brain wasn't working very well either & my feet hurt so bad I wanted to cry. Anyway, I don't have any other suggestions for the tremors. The only time they really bother me now is when I'm extra tired or trying to do fine work, like thread needles. Anybody else taken anything for tremors? Guest guest
Just a note-Aspartame/Nutri Sweet is wood alcohol, wood alcohol is a byproduct of moonshine. This has been linked to severe headaches, seizures, etc. Look it up on the internet. It is better to drink something with sugar in it than to deal with this artificial sweetner. Even the companies that make it put a disclaimer out saying that children under 12 should not drink it.
