Guest guest Posted May 28, 2005 Report Share Posted May 28, 2005 another good one involves tofu. .. tofu is great for protien and it's very healthy for your body. try half a cup of silken tofu, a cup of milk, a tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 bananas, and a tablespoon of honey. it's a sweet meal, but it's a change and the peanut butter is actually a very subtle flavour in the shake. i'll keep them coming as i think about more.. .. see ya

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: miss_redagain2005 & lt;no_reply & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Re: Food during first week?
& gt;Date: Sat, 28 May 2005 16:30:45 -0000
& gt;
& gt;Derrick,
& gt;Thanks ... I think I might try that. I'm going a little stir crazy
& gt;with the same stuff day after day. I need to get a bit braver and
& gt;start expanding my menu. I'm going shopping today. I'll put instant
& gt;mashed potatoes on my list ... and let you know how it goes!
& gt;Thanks again,
& gt;Carol
& gt;
& gt; & lt;br & gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt;
& gt; & gt; & amp;gt; Hi - I am about 1 1/2 weeks post op and I have strictly been
& gt; & gt; on & lt;br & gt; & amp;gt;an & lt;br & gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt; all liquid diet. My big bands are cut
& gt;now and I
& gt; & gt; use bands on my & lt;br & gt; & amp;gt;own & lt;br & gt; & amp;gt; & amp;gt; to do my jaw workout. Guest guest Posted May 28, 2005 Report Share Posted May 28, 2005 Derrick, I'm not sure about the tofu but I have done the peanut butter thing before. It's a yummy addition to lots of mixtures and a great way to get protein. Thanks! Guest guest Posted May 28, 2005 Report Share Posted May 28, 2005 Sara, I'm craving banana. I tried it and couldn't get it smooth enough to get it past my teeth with all the wires and the splint. Any suggestions? Thanks, Carol
& gt; & gt; Hey > Carol, > > the mashed potatoes may be doable for you. Guest guest Posted May 28, 2005 Report Share Posted May 28, 2005 try adding ice to water it down. that might make it easier to get throught the wiring. i was thinking tonight that one of my favorite things is a coffee frappucino from starbucks. i'm hoping that i'll be able to scoop that down without too much trouble post-surgery...but maybe not given the trouble everyone seems to be having. so much better for my weight-loss:-) Sara
& gt; & gt; Hey > > Carol, > > > the mashed potatoes may be doable for you. Guest guest Posted May 29, 2005 Report Share Posted May 29, 2005 Sara, Thanks, I'll try that. Carnation Instant Breakfast comes in flavors like cappucino (don't know if i'm spelling that correctly) so you can always try that. I had one yesterday - not bad. It tasted like coffee ice cream. At this point, I've lost 11 pounds. I crave food to the point where I'd almost rather have put on 11 pounds - if only I could eat. But, I've just been having a couple of rough days. I know I don't really mean that. Trying to keep my chin up, Carol > > > > another good one involves tofu. .. tofu is great for protien > and > > > it's very > > > > healthy for your body. try half a cup of silken tofu, a cup of > > > milk, a > > > > tablespoon of peanut butter, 2 bananas, and a tablespoon of > > honey. > > > it's a > > > > sweet meal, but it's a change and the peanut butter is actually > a > > > very > > > > subtle flavour in the shake. i'll keep them coming as i think > > > about more.. > > > > . see ya Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
