Ummm - Dave, are you aware Pepto Bismol has aspirin in it??

I learned it 25 years ago when I had a patient on blood thinners. No

Pepto Bismol as it increases the tendency to bleed because of the

aspirin in it. Amber

Pepto Bismol does NOT contain aspirin, however, it is a salicylate, which is the

same drug family as aspirin, with potentially similar side effects, especially

allergies.

From Proctor & Gamble:

Active Ingredients

Bismuth Subsalicylate 262 Mg; Total Salicylate 130 Mg

Inactive Ingredients

Benzoic Acid , D & C Red No. 22 , Flavor pink Cherry , Magnesium Aluminum

Silicate , Methylcellulose , Saccharin Sodium , Salicylic Acid , Sodium

Salicylate , Sorbic Acid , Water

Warnings & Precautions

Children and teenagers who have or are recovering from the chicken pox or flu

should not use this medicine to treat nausea or vomiting. This product does not

contain aspirin, but if you are allergic to aspirin do not use as an adverse

reaction may occur. If you are pregnant or nursing, consult a physician before

using this product. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. If

diarrhea is accompanied by a high fever or continues more than 2 days, consult a

doctor.

Interactions

If you are taking medicines for anticoagulation, diabetes, or gout consult a

physician before use of this product.
