Guest guest
Dora, I had those same feelings before my surgery. All the different emotions and thoughts running through your head. I tried to just concentrate on the end results and it seemed to help me get through. I also was busy making arrangements for my leave from my office and then getting things ready at home. I was lucky and stayed with my parents for the first few weeks out. Between them and my boyfriend I was well taken care of. Almost too much...they spoiled me. Will be thinking of you as you approach the day to the new you. Take care and time will fly by. Guest guest
My surgery is 1 month out from today. I am looking over the list of what to take to the hospital and making my list of what I want to have in the house when I come home. The closer it gets the more real it starts to get. Just feel like I need to jump out of my skin right now. Just feeling strange. Guest guest
Thanks guys. I know it will be here before I know it. Other than getting my house clean and shopping for my food I am ready. I guess if I were a different kind of person who put stuff off I would not be antsy. But I will get through it. Guest guest
Hey Dora, I can understand the case of nerves...they are eating me up! My surgery is alittle over two weeks away and I have been having crying spells too. I know its all boils down to the fact its almost here and I've waited so long for it to come. My husband can't be with me during surgery due to his stupid work ethics and my Mom can't be here either from Tx. so I am going to have my husbands ex MIL who will stay with me before, during and afterwards. I am grateful for her! Well I had to pipe up and tell you...your not alone in all of this and I'll be saying a prayer for both of us to get past this waiting period. Big hugs, in AL. > My surgery is 1 month out from today. I am looking over the list of what to take to the hospital and making my list of what I want to have in the house when I come home. Guest guest
Thanks Laurette! I feel blessed having all of you, my friends praying for me. Honestly helps me go to bed at night and wake up in the morning. Hugs, > , > I will also be keeping you in my prayers during the upcoming weeks and of > course through your surgery and recovery time. Guest guest
Dora - you are not the only one. I am a little less than two weeks away from my surgery and stress is my middle name. Tonight I broke down and cried. Doesn't help that I am sick and my little boy is sick. He gave us no signs and apparently has really bad ear infections. We thought his fevers were due to teeth coming in. I've been having really weird dreams and snapping at my husband. Looks like we just have to get through this waiting time and over to the other side. I gave warnings around here that I would probably be like this for a while after surgery too. Good luck to you! Wishing you an uneventful surgery and fast recovery. Caryn Lap RNY 9/1/
Guest guest
Dora, I had my surgery on August 11. I wish I had a donut pillow, my butt was (and still is) sore! Also I had gas in my right shoulder area and had to ask for a heat pack to ease the pain. Good luck, as far as pain from the actual surgery I had none. My hospital had everything, shampoo, toothbrush etc. I also was taking a shower my second day. Pat in RI > My surgery is 1 month out from today.
