My surgeon insists on payment upfront. Is this common? I will be able to pay for the surgery afterwards, with insurance reimbursement, flex-spending and my fall student loan. It's coming up with $6,300 BEFORE the surgery that's giving me grief. Good luck to you, !
Guest guest
Nah, you don't want to lose to much weight which wouldn't be good for your recovery. Yes, I do have to pay up front for my OS which I will put on my Care Credit card. I will probably have to do that tomorrow at my appt. with my OS. Hopefully when the bill comes in for the credit card I will already have received my BCBS reimbursement along with being able to submit some to my health care account at work. Anyway, I am off of here to see my OD this morning at 8:40am. I will talk to you later. > , > > > So I am a little > > worried I am going to lose to much weight. > > Ha. My OS is > not even making me pay until after the surgery. I've asked; they won't. Cash up front is all they will accept. But thanks for the prayers, I need them! Guest guest
LUNA------GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU! I kept hoping that *I* would be able to talk to someone with my specific problem prior to surgery.....didn't happen....I don't think that the combo we have is very common. Mine was upper and lower advancement. For the lower jaw--- incisions were made in the bone, a segment removed on each side and it was angled up and back. I think that even without the upper jaw being moved forward that the difference would have been significant. If you look at the xray you can see that a lot of mine is muscle tissue in my chin as well. The OS didn't want to remove tissue or " shave " the bone becuase he hasn's been happy with the results and neither have his patients when he has done so. UPLOAD YOUR PHOTOS!!! I'm dying to get a look at you. I was always told things like " you must have holes in your chin " becuase I would always get food on it. Or called " chicken lips " cuz I didn't have any. Hurtful as a child for sure and must have been more hurtful than I acknowledge since I still remember them. Thanks for the compliments....I've never considered myself " attractive " My daughter is working on that! She says " I'm very pretty and since I look like you---you MUST be pretty, too!'
