Guest guest
Congratulations! It sounds like you are off to a fantastic start! Did you drive yourself to your appointment? That seems like a super speedy recovery! Hope all continues to go so well for you. kimp160 wrote: OK, today was my one week checkup. My doctor says I am doing really well. He took out the staples (over 50 one by one ouch!!) and put sterile tapes on the incision. He said it was a good thing that he took my gall bladder out because it was in bad shape, something called cronic cholistytis. Then he told me that the tumor he removed with my ovary had hair and teeth. EEEEWWWWWW Has anyone ever heard of this before?? That totally freaks me out that that was in me. Ok, now for the weight loss part. I lost 17 lbs this first week. He said that was great. But he wants me to start on pureed food. He said to bake a small chicken breast tender and puree it with chicken broth. I hope I can manage this, it seems like a big step from the yogurt and chicken broth I have been doing. I couldn't do it today, because my doctors office is a 2 1/2 hour drive away, so that makes it 5 hours round trip and I got brave/stupid and threw a trip to the grocery store in there. That all did me in, and I have to admit that my intake today was about 5 cups of water, 2 oz carnation instant breakfast, and one sugar free popsicle. After the hard day, I just couldn't force myself to eat, I KNEW it would come back up, and that is not what I wanted first day without the staples. Keep me in your prayers, and you are all in mine!! Guest guest
My husband drove me. I could not have done it, but he did tell me I could start driving when I feel comfortable. I hope that is soon, because I have 2 workshops an hour away next week and then school starts back up. I promised them I would be there. > OK, today was my one week checkup. Guest guest
My doc says the carnation drink is a must!! They have one that has 0 sugar and 0 carbs. Chocolate is all I can find it in. It is ok. I am still at the stage that 1 packet makes 3 meals, so I mix it up and put it in a water bottle and put it in the fridge until I am going to drink it again. The way I fixed the chicken breast before I pureed it today worked out real well. I cut up some onion, bell pepper and tomato and wrapped in tinfoil with a tender and baked it. Made it real moist. I threw the veggies away and blended the chicken with broth. It was actually ok. Good luck to you. > OK, today was my one week checkup. My doctor says I am doing really > well.
