I have good and bad days with chicken too. Somedays it goes down, and

somedays it doesn't. I ate hardly anything today (solid). Today was a

shake and yogurt day. I just go with the flow. Janet

I can relate my husband says that I drive him nuts because I will eat

something that I could eat before surgery and know I can barley stand

the taste but he loves me all the same.

I have the same problem as you. I'm a week further than you post op

and I still have difficulty digesting chicken.

I have found that if the chicken is very moist and I only have a tiny

portion, it's okay.

But this past weekend, I was sick all day and night because I had a

small piece of chicken. Anything I ate afterwards that day would NOT

stay down! Finally, late at night, after bein sick many, many times, I

lost the small amount of chicken that was still sitting in my stomach

from early in the afternoon.

I'm not anxious to try it again, I can assure you!

i know, can you work with me here? breast meat is very dry and i have gotten

sick twice on it. but i have noticed if i put fat free chicken gravy on it

or light ranch dressing to dip it into, it is fine. just need something to

make it moist that's all. i thought to myself, geez, am i never going to eat

chicken again. that's quite inconvenient since protein is my main goal every

day. but it's all just trial and error everyone. i've had a drumstick and that

was fine. so try, try again my friends.

I guess I'm just a freak cause everything tastes the same and I can eat just

about anything I ate before (except sugar) and I feel just fine. I am almost

concerned that my stomach is too agreeable. Oh well, I guess we're all

different.

, I found no fat, 1 carb BBQ sauce at the health food store in

the Atkins section. They have a few other options there, but I am

cheap as everything costs $2.-$3. per bottle. Also, Lawry's has come

out with 30 minute marinades that are low carb, low fat and I use

them for sauces. Too many to choose from. Carb Options makes a good

low carb/fat alfredo sauce ( It is good). I have also purchased a

Chinese peanut sauce - Publix. I don't have enough chicken to go

around! These help alot, but there are days chicken and I do not get

along at all! Also try Velveeta or some other cheese to melt on top.

Carb Options also makes low carb/fat salad dressings that would

probably do fine as a dipping sauce for chicken, but I haven't tried

any of them yet. Janet

Ya know, I was on a pureed diet for 1 month and then soft foods for the

second month. I didn't even try chicken until my third month. There have been

a

lot of good suggestions to make the chicken moist so it goes down well. I'm

going to try some. Keep me updated on how you do.
