Guest guest Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 , i'm sorry to hear about the acne situation. As a youngster, i grew up with pimples as a fact of life. I tried everything to get rid of them. For some reason i've noticed that i get them during the dry winters when i put cream on my face to sooth the dry factor, but then i get pimples as a result of that. IN the summer i'm usually all good cause i can sweat out the pores in my skin. I suspect that you're probably reacting to prescription meds or you might be dealing with stress. Any one of those factors are definately able to cause break outs. If its the meds, there's probably nothing you can do about it until you're off the meds. HOpe this helps. take care

& nbsp;

derrick

& gt;From: & quot;beakghs & quot; & lt;beakghs@... & gt;
& gt;Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;To: orthognathicsurgerysupport
& gt;Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Acne after surgery
& gt;Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 02:48:04 -0000
& gt;
& gt;Hey guys, I just had surgery 2 weeks ago and have never really had a
& gt;problem with acne or pimples or anything like that. Guest guest Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 I broke out about 3 weeks post op (I'm 5 post op weeks today). For the first week of pimples I did nothing, mostly because washing my face was so weird. But then I decided to take on those pimples....I started doing my usual routine..wash and moisturize. You'd think that the extra lotion would make the pimples worse, but actually my skin started getting better. I still have pinmples, but they are much less noticeable now. My suggestion to you is to return to your normal routine and see if that helps. Guest guest Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 , You're not alone. I've read a couple of posts here on this topic and actually posted one of my own. The breakout I'm dealing with doesn't seem to be " acne " or " pimples " but these little tiny bumps. I have an appointment on the 31st during which I will be asking about it. I'll let you know what kind of information I get. Carol > Hey guys, I just had surgery 2 weeks ago and have never really had a > problem with acne or pimples or anything like that. Guest guest Posted May 27, 2005 Report Share Posted May 27, 2005 , It's typical to break out as a result of anaestesia. After all, it's not exactly the best thing for your body. The pimples are probably your body's way of trying to get the poison out of its system. If the symptoms persist for more than 2 weeks then go see a dermatologist and he'll be able to prescribe something to help clear up your skin. You might also want to mention it to your surgeon who may be able to recommend a good face wash that previous patients have used.
