Guest guest
Ronit, I took about three and a half weeks... but I had a bladder lift and thigh lift in addition to the extended TT. I could have used more time, but I got a new job that I needed to start. I was a bit uncomfortable the first couple of weeks, but it was manageable. Everyone is really different, though. You never know how something will affect you. A good guideline is how you have recovered from other surgeries relative to the time you were given to expect you would need. hugs, Ann
Guest guest
I went back to work 7 days after my extensive abdominoplasty (almost all the way around), brachioplasty, and burn scar revision. (http://tinyurl.com/kr2f for photos of what I had done). I had 10 feet of incisions that were healing up nicely and only two drains by the time I went back to work. I wish I'd taken one more week off, but really, it's a toss-up. It was incredibly hot in my three-story un-air-conditioned townhouse, which took a lot out of me, so in some ways, sitting here in my very air conditioned office was easier than being at home in bed! YMMV. I think I recover unusually quickly from surgery and stuff... I drove my sister to the airport twelve hours after I delivered my 8 pound, 10 ounce daughter at home (no drugs), was ready to go back to work 10 days after my RNY, went back to work 8 days after my cornea transplant (normal recovery time 2-4 weeks), etc. How did you recover from your gallbladder removal? Your knee replacement? I'm willing to bet that your tummy tuck recovery time will fall somewhere between the two of those, since gb is usually pretty easy and the knee, I hear, can be pretty tough. Would a realistic time to return to work be about 3 weeks? I don't lift and can accommodate my job to mostly sitting as I have to do that now because I am still recuperating from my knee replacements. Any suggestions would be appreciated Ronit (Row-Neet) Kalmanor Lap RNY 11/10/00 Gallbladder Removed 2/10/01 Knee Replacement Surgery 4/10/03 Preparing for Plastics YEAH!!!!!!
