Bummer, it was true of the phone company, and come to think of it-- most of the admin offices I've worked in...

I can't speak for the post office, but I did know an obstetrician in Dallas who used to stand out at the nurses' station not just scratching, but with his hand inside his scrubs! Then go examine his patient, and he usually didn't wash his hands. He did put on a glove, but still.
