Guest guest
my surgeon wanted me brushing immediately after - 5 x a day with a small size toothbrush, she must keep the mouth clean - it was a pain in the neck for me and took about 30 min. each time since i had to take my wax on and off each time! good luck and tell her to brush. > My wife had orthognathic surgery 10 days ago to correct her open bite. > She has been rinsing regularly, but we were wondering when she can > start brushing again? Guest guest
I started brushing immediately after. Your wife just needs to be careful not to brush the incision sites too soon. This is really a question that she should ask her surgeon though. > My wife had orthognathic surgery 10 days ago to correct her open bite. > She has been rinsing regularly, but we were wondering when she can > start brushing again? Guest guest
My Surgeon advised me in the hospital, one day post-op, that I should start brushing ASAP. He said that I should brush 4 or 5 times a day. I was told that a child's toothbrush, nice and soft, was the best way to go. So, I use that along with a Water Pik a few times a day. You can always check with her Surgeon, to make sure there isn't any particular reason why she should be brushing - but from what I understand and what I've read ... she can and should be brushing now. Good luck! Carol > My wife had orthognathic surgery 10 days ago to correct her open bite. > She has been rinsing regularly, but we were wondering when she can > start brushing again?
