Guest guest
Hi family it has been awhile since I posted any thing in regards to my WLS so here goes.In march of 2003 my journey began I was pre op with tons of co morbitites.I was a new mom and I weighed 343.I was told by my pcp that if I did not get serious about losing weight that I could die at a very young age I was 35.I have a dear friend who was planning to have WLS and was on her why to getting it done she told me to research and think about getting it my self.I was so against it I told her that I could do it my self and that I was not willing to risk my life well I did my research talked to alot of my co workers who are 3 and 4 years out went to several support group meetings.I was finally ok with having WLS lap RNY.In august of 2003 I went to see Dr hopkins my bariatric specialist he helped my get a clear understanding that Wls is not a cure for obesity but a tool that if used the right way great success would be gained so he put me on a strict diet,my surgeon did not requier me to lose weight this was just Dr hopkins why of helping his Pt get ready for a life style change.I was done with all the pre op testing. nov 21st was my one on one with my sergeon.I had lost a total of 59 lbs on my own by this time since march .Well the Dr was impressed and said I was ready and they gave me a date Dec 2,2003 well that was rescheduled due to me catching A sinus flu or something anyway The lord blessed me with a date of Dec, 17,2003 that was my new beging. Now that I am 7mos post op I see things alot diffrent than when I started.I am happy with my sucess thus far how ever I have had my ups and downs.I have lost 66 lbs since my surgery and 59 before a total of 125 .I eat all the right things most of the times when I want a treat I have it.I am not much on exercise which will change soon.As for my weight lose with the new tool I was furstrated with only losing 66 lbs I believe that I am a slow loser.I just knew that by now I would be down at least 100 lbs.I am up and down with emotions at times I think I am a failure And then I look at my before pictures and I am amazed I geuss what I am saying is that even though my body is changing I still am the same person with the same issues that I had before surgery that is why I am so glad to be blessed with the great support that I have on and off line.I know that I have to take it one day at a time and stay off the forbidden scale . " I vow to only weigh twice a month " .I just felt the need to vent I love you guys this is my home away for home even though its in a computer HEHEHE well enough of my babaling love you all my god bless you . Guest guest
Wasia, You are in no way a failure. If you ask me you are amazing. How awesome that you were able to loose the 59 pounds before and and to continue after the surgery. 125 pounds gone is nothing to sneeze at. Keep up the good work!!! You seem to be doing great to me.
