Mine comes apart real easy, and there are exactly 6 parts, not all that small, that a little soapy water and not much effort clean easily - let sit in the draining rack and they're dry when I come home. I can clean my blender in 2 minutes or less. I find cleaning my tupperware shaker much more of a chore - all those silly little crevices they design into them that dishrags and towels don't really fit into! My tupperware shaker doesn't have any. I fill it with water when I'm done, let it sit awhile, dump it and rinse it. Air dry in the drainer. No dishrags or towels. And 6 pcs of a blender is still 4 more than a shaker, lol. Carol A
Guest guest
*LOL* and I still like my hand blender. One blender to clean and a mug to rinse well and then put in the dishwasher for double sure cleaning of bacteria. My little 9.99 Sunbeam blender is GRRRRRRRRRRRREAAAAAAAAATT for me. Big blender, hand blender, Tupperware shaker, empty bottles for shaking ... whatever works for each of us. Just like the mix comes in different brands and different flavors for whatever each likes best. (btw for traveling I use an empty Snapple bottle that I have rinsed in the dishwasher. Fill it with the protein powder and just add the water ... doable but not like the ones I make with the blender) Re: Cleaning blenders > In a message dated 11/14/2003 12:53:39 PM Central Standard Time, > sstewart@... writes: > > > I find cleaning my > > tupperware shaker much more of a chore - all those silly little crevices > > they design into them that dishrags and towels don't really fit into! > > ---------------------------------------- > > What crevices? Guest guest
Am on my 5th or 6th hand blender. Sometimes I find them at garage sales for $1. No one ever used them, they just sat in someone's appliance graveyard. I just spin 'em in the soapy water in my glass if I'm rushing. Why so many, you ask? I started using them pre-op (boy, was my early 90's one heavy in comparison) for gravies, sauces, eggs, anything that needed mixing. I even use it for Crystal Light & jello. LOL! I've only burned up 2 of them, but the others, well, I drown them. I often keep a pan of hot soapy water (feels good on my Raynaud's hands) and stand them up in there for " just a minute " . oops. They cannot swim. I grab them really fast and stand them upside down for the water to drain out of the motor. Kinda fun to watch Don's hair stand straight up. Thanks, Vitalady, Inc. I Well, the shaker cup doesn't have any, but that LID! and the shaker screen thingy! I make mine on the go and don't always have time to rinse it right away, so it has to be washed and water likes to hide in those deep grooves and the dishtowel doesn't seem to want to go into them. Eh. I use both methods. They both have their merits and their downsides, I s'pose. The best thing about the blender though, is my breakfast shake is the BEST - 1 scoop PS100, 1 scoop Stack (both in chocolate of course), a drizzle of peppermint extract, 4 oz cold water, 5 - 6 ice cubes - ooooooooooooo yummy! Too bad I can't make those all day long! ) Sally 298 (BMI 49)/-142/156 Goal: 145-150ish lap RNY 7/10/02 Dr. Quinlin/Pittsburgh
