Guest guest
First of all, thanks for the ideas and comments about lifting my toddler after surgery. Next question - my husband is very supportive and wants to help as much as possible. He keeps asking me what I will need after surgery. So what were the things that people did for you after surgery that were the most helpful? Either things that they did or ways that they supported you that were most helpful. Guest guest
..Hi Caryn! What a great Husband you have! You are very lucky! I stayed with my brother and sister in law after my surgery and they helped me a great deal as they took care of my son, who was 2 at the time. He went to their daycare (they own it) so I could rest all day and still see him at night. They took care of feeding and bathing him too, so I wasn't too stressed. This all was a big relief for me. I think it's just great to have family who are there cheering you on. My brother is quite a funny guy, and he was always telling jokes and keeping me thinking positive. I just prepared ahead of time and had Boost, protein jello, chicken broth, etc... all ready to go, that way they didn't have to worry about feeding me (not like i ate anything when I was there anyways! LOL!!!). Best of luck to you! gbp 5/27/03 315/ 170/
Guest guest
Seeing as I have 3 boys and a husband (who does everything but cook) at home, the biggest help I got was from my mother and sisters cooking meals for my family. I cooked as many things as I could ahead of time and froze them, but it was still nice to have those cooked meals here for more than a week post-op. My family also brought some delicious homemade soups for me to eat. Then, the next nicest thing was my mother taking me grocery shopping as soon as I felt up to going out. She carried the bags and pushed the cart, but I was able to pick out the things we needed in our house as well the things I felt I could eat. > So what were the things that people did for you after surgery that > were the most helpful?
