Have you considered his taking LDN? Works wonders, without bad side effects. though possibly it works slightly better for Crohn's than for colitis. n ______________________________A funny, touching gift book for cat lovers. Guest guest
2 months is too soon. your son has been sick for a few years it will take time. my son who is now 16 started the diet as soon as he was diagnosed when he was 10. but he cheated also. last year he was sick for a whole month- he missed school. i started the intro diet and i did it for a whole month then i started adding food very slowly. now Thank G-d he is healing. but it does take time. if your son can have bananas give him 2 in the morning and one at night it helped my son. and maybe just cook him meatballs for a while until his stomach gets better. good luck. batsheva > Is there a negative issue to grilling burgers instead of broiling them?> My son has yet to really see any change since starting scd 2 months ago > and we are trying to figure out what he might be doing wrong. The best his stools have ever been were mushy...still nothing formed. He is very tired lately as well. He is in his second week of taking S.Boulardi, and started taking about 1/2 capsule of scdolphilus daily this past week. Based on how he was feeling, I suggested he stop the probiotic but continue with the s. boulardi as the recommendation is to take it for 4 weeks. I was really hoping that would start to firm things up for him. Some people find that either charcoal or out door gas grills " adds " something to which they may be sensitive. I'd suggest switching to broiling or get a Foreman style electric grill if you don't want to be heating up your oven in this wonderful summer weather. (We've been on heat alerts for the last ten days... I'm not using my oven if I can avoid it!) It's not unusual to be tired as you make the shift from rumen (bacteria based) to human (enzyme based) digestion. Was " mushy " and improvement for him? Please remember that healing with food does take time. I was still eating about five items -- well, six items if you count the butter on my zucchini -- at two months into the diet. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
Guest guest
Unfortunately outdoor grilling bothers me also even if you put it on foil. Indoor, stovetop grills and broiling or braising has always been ok. I don't know if you eventually get over that--I hope so. On Wed, Aug 11, 2010 at 11:05 AM, Wizop Marilyn L. Well, I'll admit that I didn't have char-grilled anything for over a year. By that point, I was OK with it, but then again, I only had it like once every couple of weeks, not every evening. I hope you heal enough to enjoy outdoor grilled foods again, too! — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
