Guest guest
Lori, I would say that sublinguals at bedtime IS a supplement, and I'd call that number really nice. Only if it went down would I worry at all. :-) 1150 or so was my " natural " pre-op level but I only see that number now within a few days of a B-12 shot. If sublings held me there, I would be very excited indeed! Z Open RNY 09/17/01 http://www.ziobro.us b12 is 1152 Dh's b12 just came back at 1152, he rarely supplements, but has been taking 1 sublingual at bedtime lately. What do we make of this? Is there harm in this? Is this a spike before fall? He's over 3 years post op. Guest guest
Lori, my B-12 was over 1900 after taking it daily for a couple of years. Did it hurt me - no. Is it a waste of money - yes. Now I take it 2x a week - will see what the lab says now!! Amber/FL b12 is 1152 Dh's b12 just came back at 1152, he rarely supplements, but has been taking 1 sublingual at bedtime lately. Guest guest
If b levels are high, yah that could be a waste of money. Harming wise though I found this for water soluble vitamins like B: " When present in excess of the body's needs, they are excreted in the urine. Because they are readily excreted, they are generally non-toxic, although symptoms have been reported in some individuals taking megadoses of niacin, vitamin C or pyridoxine. " http://www.daily-vitamins.com/water.html I know vit c..if I take too much my tummy hurts. So I take 1000mg a day..and then if I'm feeling under the weather I up the dose then. Fat soluble vitamins that can store up in the body if excess it taken can be toxic: http://www.daily-vitamins.com/fat.html I'm not a nutritionist or anything but it has been the common thing I've come across when reading up on this stuff.
