Guest guest
I really like the photos, you look great! And it looks like you had fun, we have to remember to have some fun in our life too:) Marla Just one day at a time, That's all God ask of us. for there never really is a tomorrow, as that too is just today:) Well, this past Sunday my adult daughters (Theresa & Ginny) accompanied me to Chicago for the 4th annual Hike for Lung Health. We walked as members of Team Sarcoidosis (152 hikers!), completing one mile. So far Team Sarc has raised almost $23,000 THIS YEAR, 91% of our goal! I debated about going to Chicago, thinking that I could donate the money used for the trip, but it was actually a very special time for my daughters & me. 37 years ago I married their dad & shortly after adopted them. Their dad & I divorced after 22 years, but the girls & I still consider 9/29 our anniversary. So we planned this trip as a celebration/retreat for us & we had a great time. For those not on Facebook, I will post pictures in the Photos section of the NS website, in the album " Hike for Lung Health. Guest guest
We did have a good time. We're thinking of making it an annual tradition. Guest guest
The Hike for Lung Health has raised over $117,000 so far; $25,000 was raised by Team Sarcoidosis, my guys! This is money that will fund research & sevices for folks suffering from COPD, cystic fibrosis, asthma, sarcoidosis, lung cancer & a variety of other lung diseases. Theresa, Ginny & I want to express our appreciation for the prayers, emotional support & financial donation from those that were able. It was a great experience to be with nearly a thousand people gathering together for such an important cause. Probably every one of us has been affected or knows someone affected with lung disease. I've enclosed a photo of Team Sarcoidosis; we are on the far right. We didn't actually make it for the photo because I kept missing the street leading to the park, so we got there just as the walk started. But due to the wonders of digital photography, there we are with the rest of the team! Again, thanks for all the support, and by the way, donations will be accepted until Oct. 22! Rose & her girls A merry heart is good medicine. Proverbs 17:22 1 of 1 Photo(s)
