Guest guest
Jayar You look so much better in that picture! Even a smile too Mira --- jayarinca wrote: --------------------------------- Hi all! I have had my 2-day post op photos posted here: http://www.jayadeff.com/JR_Surgery.htm I'm starting to look less like I'm drunk! YAY! I am getting tons of feeling back in my face which is a mixed blessing since I am now feeling the trauma to my gums and teeth. I wish I could feel my chin. I have now lost a total of 25 lbs in 3 weeks, though I am eating much better now. I still would kill for a bacon cheeseburger, though. Can't wait to start chewing again, and to start lifting weights again! UGH! I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow to see if I have enough room (22mm) to have my root canals done the following week. The surgeon is trying to work out a discount with the endodontist for the root canals since the teeth were damaged in surgery. Wish me luck! And this will be my second week back at work... first week wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be, but I am a Project Manager, so 3/4 of my day is talking. That was challenging. Only 18 days left of the splint... WHEE! Jayar ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Wow Jayar! You look great! 25lbs weight loss? That must be a record! I would be surprised if they could do those root canals so soon. How the heck are you going to open your mouth wide enough? I have had my experience with root canals having had 10 already. Guest guest
Thanks, ! I hold a lot of water, plus I was very muscular before the surgery. Since I am now a big flabby mess, I would hazard a guess that most of my muscle is now fat... that would be the explanation of the weight loss. I can't wait to get back into the gym, though. I have to have the root canals before the splint can come off because I will go right back into orthodontic wires the same day as the splint is off. According to my endodontist, I have to have them done before that happens because the teeth could be lost if they suffer further trauma. The good news is that when I was disbanded a week ago, I had about 8mm opening in my jaw. Now, I am at about 15mm. I have a week to go, and 7mm to go, so I am confident that it can be done. The upside is that these are my lower cuspids, so it should be easier to get to them than the back teeth. Wish me luck! Guest guest
Thanks! It hurt to smile, but my partner insisted. I used to think that it hurt to smile for other reasons, but now it is literal. Ugh. I can't wait to be free of this splint hell! (I *hate* drooling in meetings!) > > > --------------------------------- > Hi all! > > I have had my 2-day post op photos posted here: > http://www.jayadeff.com/JR_Surgery.htm > > I'm starting to look less like I'm drunk! Guest guest
You're looking good! I think maybe, just maybe, I even see a smile there! Congratulations.
