Hi All,

This is one of my biggest fears for my 17 yo. Her surgery is a week away.

She's a very sensitive kid and I'm so afraid that people's " well-meaning "

comments will hurt her. She has been hurt enough for many years by kids at

school. I

cannot tell you how many times she has come home sobbing because some rotten

kid asked her where her chin was. " Did you leave it at home? " " What happened to

your face? " It happened in front of me one day. The boy did not know that I

was 's Mom. It took every ounce of energy to control myself!

Any suggestions on how to help her with the changes she is going to

experience?? Thank you all!
