Guest guest
Hi all. I finally found time in my schedule to join a Jazzercize class with a friend of mine. I haven't exercised, probably since this time last year because I kept getting hit with different things. The last one was the hysterectomy in July. I finally got the go ahead to exercise and went for a free trial class with my friend and had a blast. I really need to get my ass moving again. Felt great for two days and then BAM, chest pains from hell. Couldn't move, breathe, nothing. The pain was excruciating. This started very late at night/early morning, so decided to wait until my cardiologist was in. Had me come right in and after an EKG, echo, blood work etc, was diagnosed with pericarditis. Was told to rest and gave me a scrip for painkillers. Asked him what could have possibly caused this and he said that it could have been anything, but the most likely cause was the Prednisone I was on for the hearing loss and the fact that I had dental work done while on the Prednisone and wasn't pre-medicated. Not only did the Prednisone not restore any of my hearing, but it wreaked havoc with my stomach and I was miserable the entire time I was on it. I finally started to feel good and just went for one lousy class and now I'm down for at least another two weeks. Have to go back next week for another echo to make sure that the swelling in the pericardium has in fact gone down. Well, I always told my husband that exercise would kill me. Maybe I'm right. : ) Looking forward to giving this another shot as soon as I possibly can. Thanks, just needed to piss and moan for a few minutes.
