Guest guest
Guess what?! I took the afternoon off to go around to different banks and lenders, and the first bank I went to approved my request for a loan, no problem! Can you believe it? After all my stress and worry? They were happy to loan me the money, at a reasonable interest rate -- in fact, she was trying to get me to borrow the full $6,300 from them instead of just the partial $4,000 (since my credit union is loaning me $2,500). Of course, the paperwork won't be final for a few days, but she didn't seem to think there would be any problem. I guess I had just assumed that since my credit union, which I've had a good relationship with for 8 years, wouldn't loan me enough, that nobody else would, either. I knew my credit wasn't great -- but she pulled my credit report right there, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. My score is in the middle range, which she said was average. Maybe this is all just practice for buying a home in a few years? I do need to clean up a few things on my credit report, and doing so now will help me get the best interest rate possible on a future mortgage. Anyway, I'm so, so relieved. Thank you for bearing with me; I'm sorry I made such a fuss. Luna
