Guest guest
Kale chips turn out great in the oven- I toss the torn-up leaves in olive oil in lemon juice and spread them out on cookie sheets. Then I just sprinkle with whatever- salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne (if tolerated), etc. Cook them for about 20 minutes at 350 (you can touch them to see if they are crispy). Also-- I found that you can make a huge batch and actually refrigerate the leftovers (if you don't eat them all!). They will get soggy, but you can throw them on a cookie sheet and broil them for about 2 minutes and they are as good as new As far as I know, radishes are legal. Hope this helps! -Joanna SCD 9/2009, Crohn's 1992, 30mg Prednisone > > Hi all, > > What is your best recipie of kale chips ? Guest guest
Do you cook them at all before hand? Or just tear them up raw and then toss in the olive oil, etc...? Guest guest
Nope, I just toss them raw. When they come out of the oven crispy they practically disintegrate in your mouth- I've notice my pooh getting greener when I eat them, but I seem to tolerate it okay and I am not that advanced! -Joanna > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > What is your best recipie of kale chips ? Guest guest
Nice ! Wonderful, i'll try that ! I just realize that kohlrabi was not really legal, after eating a whole one, pureed. I hope it's going to be alright :S Annie > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > > > What is your best recipie of kale chips ? Actually, I have two dehydrators, but I usually do my kale chips in the oven. I put a piece of parchment on a " holey " pizza pan. Then I take kale or collard, trim the thick stems off with scissors, tear into chip sized pieces, sprinkle with olive oil and toss until the leaves are coated, then spread them out in a single layer on the parchment. If desired, sprinkle very lightly with salt. Place in 350F oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until crisp and dry. Radishes, if you're talking the kind that usual go in salads, are legal. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
