Guest guest
Hi, my name is Vicki, I am new to the group and wanted to say hello~ My consultation is on September 10th and I am really excited! My aunt had the surgery about 10 months ago and has lost 170 lbs and my cousin had it 4 months ago and has lost 57 so I said why not me. My number one reason for having it done is that i am unable to exercise at this weight (250). I had spinal fusion 2 yrs ago and I have had no pain/problems since but its hard to excercise because i have drop foot, it makes walking for more than 20-30 min difficult. My blood pressure in the last 3 months has went up to 160/120 and my colesteral was 290-so since i gained 30lbs this year after trying all the fad diets, why not? I hope this didnt bore everyone but figured it would be good to share- I live on Long Island and am 35- the name?? my dad died 3 yrs ago and well he called me his buddy~ hope all are doing well and Thanks for a site where we have things in common! ~vicki
Guest guest
Hi Vicki, This is a great group of people. Full of such wonderful advice before your attempt and afterwards. My surgery is scheduled for Sept. 7th and I know these wonderful " friends/family " will see me through it and any questions that arise afterwards. It helps that you have family who has traveled this road already! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Welcome!! Hugs, in AL. Guest guest
Vicki i have to tell you that this email was such an emotional email for me this am when i read it. As you see i lost my mom 2 yrs ago and it was the hardest thing i ever lived through in my entire life. And she was my buddy my best friend in the whole world but her death has really made me see life in so many different ways. Thought i miss her terribly and it gets easier not much but it does i decided i didn't want to die with all the diseases related to being heavy like she had. And your email brought a tear to my eye this am i just want to say welcome and thank you! in NJ. mydadsbuddy wrote: Hi, my name is Vicki, I am new to the group and wanted to say hello~ My consultation is on September 10th and I am really excited! Guest guest
WOW and well now I have tears in my eyes (hope no one comes to my desk) but i am so glad to hear that you were able to remember your mom today, i miss my dad so much and i have found that i fine peace when i speak of him and the memories. You know what amazes meis that we all kinda " bumped " into eachother here and then the littlest things that we dont realize effect's another member in such a way, I am glad that i was able to share a " buddy emotion " cuz there is no one better than a buddy and if your mom was anything like my dad, well its ok for us to cry and miss them, because they were great " Buddies " I wish you well and the pain will never go away it will just get a little further. But find peace in talking of her and remembering the love only a partent can give. > Hi, my name is Vicki, I am new to the group and wanted to say hello~ > My consultation is on September 10th and I am really excited! > My aunt had the surgery about 10 months ago and has lost 170 lbs and > my cousin had it 4 months ago and has lost 57 so I said why not me. > My number one reason for having it done is that i am unable to > exercise at this weight (250).
